Oil Pressure over 80 (max) when idle
STRONG gasoline smell after seconds of idling
Burning smell after driving short distances
Diminished power
Engine putts a bit when idle
Engine cuts out when gas is floored and car is in neutral
Sound of liquid draining when engine is shut off
My 2005 Nissan Sentra cranks excessively when starting. Does anyone know what the problem is?
And here's what I know:
There is oil in the car.
There is an oil leak and the bottom of the car is covered with it.
Month-old cat-back
Not used for offroading
Over 100,000 miles
Not taken care of by previous owner
Oil and filter were replaced about 1 month ago (well under 3,000 miles)
Oil Pressure gauge is normally at 40
There doesn't appear to be any coolant in the coolant container.

Internally the engine is more than likely so grunged up with the previous owners low quality oil, that the oil will not drain through the oil holes properly, the oil pump pressure valve is fuzzed up causing way too high pump pressure...

my tecumseh engine only runs on full choke... what should i do to get it to run normally?
the oil over 80 could be just a sending unit or bad connection at the unit plug. could also be a filter problem. the liquid draining if it sounds like it is in side the engine that it is normal. the smell off burning is probably oil on exhaust. lack off power could be all kinds of things plugs wires coil fuel filter. but it sound like you are flooding the vehicle. try full tune up and oil change make sure you change the air filter.you may also have a vacuum leak or a throttle problem all are fixable cheep. if you buy a book on this vehicle it will help with trouble shooting.
