the normal is about every three months or three thousand miles...but since you have a newer car i would say depending on how much you dive to change it every winter, as the yers pass however, i would start to change that from yearly to every 6months, to every three months, there is no feeling on earth like the feeling you get when your machanic says "all of this coulda been prevented if you hve gotten a regular tune up"Battery not holding charge after jump?
you will see a fuel improvement if you tune it up now but I believe the factory says you can go 100,000 miles before a tune-up, check your owners manual. Can anyone recommend I great book for beginner basic car maintaince?
According to Ford's maintenance schedule, the fuel filter and air filter are to be replaced every 30,000 miles under normal driving conditions. The platinum spark plugs are scheduled to be replaced at 100,000 miles, though I would do it at 60,000 miles. I would also replace the automatic transmission fluid every 30,000 to 40,000 miles even though Ford recommends a change at 150,000 miles under normal driving conditions. Older transmissions for the Explorer have a bad reputation for premature failure. So I would replace the ATF more often than recommended. The fluid will be dirty and worn by 50,000 miles, trust me.Starter problem 1981 Chevy 1/2 ton?
In my case i do a Change oil every 5000miles then a tuneup every 10000miles. So far my car is still in service with me up to now without any major engine damage, by the way my car is already 10yrs old.More Questions & Answers ...
