bolt is stuck in frame of a 99 toyota tacoma. The frame is stripped and the bolt wont come out. I bought an extractor but dont know how to use it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

without seeing your problem, You can drill into the center of the bolt and then tap your extrator into the hole and turn it out. I don't know what this bolt does, but in a lot of situations I take them out with a cutting torch. This method is best done by someone with experience.heat wrench! (torch) Sound like ya got yerself a fix. I've seen guys weld their socket wrenches to their work. After you drill out the hole for the extractor, get amapp gas torch and heat the bolt first then use the extractor. if the bolt is over 1/2 in. thick you'll probably need an aceytlene torch.

Drill a hole in the bolt, using a slow to medium RPM and lots of cutting oil or even light motor oil, to keep the drill tip from burning.
You want to drill deep enough to tap the screw extractor snugly into the bolt.

If you can safely work with a propane torch (if the work are is at a location on th truck where there is absolutely no danger of any gasoline fumes! even so, keep have a fire exinguisher handy), then you could heat the bolt area to help loosen the stuck bolt.

Then remove the bolt using the screw extractor - either with a handle purchased to fit th extractor, or an adjustable (Crescent) wrench. Tap the extractor in the hole you drilled and turn the extractor in the counter clockwise direction to remove a conventional (right-hand) threaded bolt. The extractor will bite into the bolt and successfully remove it as you turn CCW.

Heat the bolt with a torch, this will soften the bolt because it is hardened. Then you can drill, and use your bolt extractor. If it is seized, heat the frame, and try to turn the bolt. Is the bolt head broken off?? If you heat the bolt red hot, then you may be able to punch it out.good luck.
