My car accelerates when its in park?

Question:
i have a 99 honda civic and last month it started accelerating over and over again when i put it in park. then it stopped and hasnt happened again until now. now not only does it accelerate in park it accelerates and stays at 2 rpm. does anyone know what this could be?

those querky little sensors control the world. maybe a tps(throttle position sensor) maybe a number of things. no check engine light to diagnose. have a certified shop take a look at it.
