Question:
My father has a R reg, Citroen Xsara, the cigarette lighter has stopped working, he has now purchased a new cigarette lighter from Citroen, but does not know how to fit it...Citroen were only too happy to relieve my father of £70 to fit it for him, so he said no.....Hopefully someone might be of help and give me an answer.
Thank you in advance.

you have to remove surround and it is a tight fit but the lighting unit of the lighter where bulb goes seperates from the cigar lighter unit. lighting side pulls down and cigar part pushes up. But it is tight!
car problems, car bouncing?
Assuming you have an identical replacement. The cigarette lighter is normally interference fit, i.e. its tight (there are normally no screws or anything). With care try and lever it out or if you can get behind it and push it out, even better. Then just put the spade connectors on the new one and push that in.
