Question:
I know that there are core fees involved for some auto parts. Is it normal to be charged a core fee whether the replacement part is new, remanufactured, or rebuilt? Thanks.

Here in Texas, atleast, they charge you $10 extra on when you buy a car battery, called a core fee. and you could either choose to return the old worn out battery to them and get back the $10 or not. BUt most people will return it, because .you kow.it's $10. It's so you don't irresponsibly dump the hazardous battery somewhere.Generally core charges only apply to rebuilt or reman. parts, on rare occasions manufactures of new parts have requested core charges the industry as a whole is getting a way from cores. experiance
