My truck belt is squeaking and the belt is pretty brand new whats wrong?

ive sprayed belt dressing on it but it still squeaks, ive tightened the belt that looked all loose when the truck is idleing but that still didnt stop the noise, please help

Are you sure its the belt?it could be one of the accessorys that your belt is turning like alternator,water pump,belt tensioner pulley,smog pump,power steering etc etc.Any one of these items could have a bad bearing in it in where it sounds like your belt is squeaking but its actually a bearing in one of the other drive pulleys.Hope this helps.

If you have an automatic tensioner then you probably have an idler pulley or tensioner pulling going bad. It may not be the belt.
