What is wrong with my 1971 Chevy 350 engine?
Three things to look at on these engines, crankshaft position sensor and wires, ignition control module(you says it been replaced) and vehicle control module. I'd be looking at the crankshaft position sensor and wires(check for spark when cranking motor over) because the ICM on these engines is supposed to be able to fire the spark plugs when the engine is under 400 rpms or something(trying to start vehicle) and after the vehicle starts the VCM takes over the timing and firing of the plugs. It is possible that you got another bad ICM but check the crankshaft sensor firstAnyone know much about the Chevrolet Malibu?
I had a car that had the same problem i took it to a auto electic mecanic he told me it had some wires coming out of the transmission that where bad and once he replaced those wires the problem never came back so do not do like i did before that i replaced those wires i replaced like 1000 other partsForklift maintainance?oil change?and break?
Have someone check the pickup coil in the distributor. This works like a magneto on a lawnmower, as it creates the high voltage electrical charge needed for the plugs to fire. Had a truck do the same thing you are describing. That is what it turned out to be after MANY parts were replaced! Sometimes it is just cheaper to take it to the dealer to have the problem solved. If i have little cuts and scratches on my car, what household item could get them off?
sounds like the fuel pump is going south. check it yourself or have the fuel pump pressure tested, do not go by seeing if fuel is flowing. if the pump is going out it may flow fuel but not at the pressure needed.why does an altinator go wrong??
to me it sounds more like a fuel pump problem or the wiring related to the fuel system on this general motors vehicles i have experience a bad or even burn ground connection inside the fuel tank assembly also check your fuel pump relay and wiring one of them could be touching ground especially near the exhaust manifold some times they burn up and touch at that point and last but not least the wires leading to the crank sensor ...... happy new yearWhat is the best brand of Windshield Wiper blades?
The two probable causes are ignition module and fuel pump. The ignition module can be tested at part stores like AutoZone which is where I would start. If it tests good the have a competent mechanic test the fuel pump. Good luckmy jeep slips into neutral while i'm driving in two or four wheel drive. transfercase?
we had a '93 chevy 3.1 and it would do almost the same thing. we had a computer that went bad, took the dealer three of 'em to get a good one. chevy has them rebuilt, but i guess they don't test to see if they are fixed. luckily for us it was under warranty.More Questions & Answers ...
