Question:
I bought a 2002 Ford Explorer in August of 2006. The latch on the back window just broke, causing the window to almost fall off and break. I got it back in temporarily, but it needs to be replaced. I see it was a recalled part back in 2003, and at that time you could take it back to Ford and they would replace it for free.
Can I still take it back to Ford to be replaced, even though I bought it used? Thanks!
Answers:
Yes, if it was subject of a recall...the repair is covered for the vehicle,no matter whom it is owned by at the time.
Where do I check for vacuum leaks on a 1990 Camaro RS?
Ford has to honor the recall notice. However, if they already replaced the part in your truck, it will show in their computer and you may have to pay. Best thing to do would be to go to the dealership, or maybe call Fords customer service line.As long as it is a Ford vehicle, then Ford can fix your recall

If the window was never fixed under warranty, it doesn't matter who owns it. Ford should fix it with no problem. All they will need is your VIN # when you go in to the shop.More Questions & Answers ...
