Car question..any mechanics??

I a car has troubles shifting to higer gears and we drive at 40-50 in gear 2 then will the car explode or just the engine will get heated and the car will stop? or something else?

basically whats happening is that your transmission is not up shifting and is making your engine rev-up higher than normal since you are driving 40 MPH and up .now the first thing that can happend is that your transmission will finish burning up the clutches that still have a little life and eventually will not move any more even if the engine is running and second your engine will probably get damage by the very high RPM (revolutions per minute) eather way your car needs to be taken to a repair shop......hope this helps

you need to park the car...or replace the tranny..if you dont, then you will need to replace the engine to..the engine is revving to high, thus not good for it...trade it asap !

No, the car will not explode. However you could destroy your engine. Motors are designed to run within certain RPMs and when you exceed them bad things happen, like rod and/or main bearing failure, broken or twisted cranks, valve piston interference etc. So do not drive a vehicle that is stuck in second over 25 mph and only then in an emergency.

1996 Chrysler LHS with wheel wobble in rt rear.?

I am guessing you have manual transmission.
If you have had the car for awhile you would be kinda familiar to where you found the smoothes shift points.
I drive VW beetle so the example is from it at15mph shift into 2nd gear, at 30mph into3rd, and at 40-45 into 4th. I am telling you this as I drive delivery truck, we don't use the clutch and can mesh the gear with very little if any grinding without a clutch.
You can do the same shifting at your idling range. After being in second, take it up to the speed where it is the minimum area for 3rd( as you remember), let off the gas and move the shifter as though you had depressed the clutch. It may slip in immediately, or you may have to hold it for a bit until the car slows down a bit and then it will slide in.. If you slow down alot(and you know you are below what 3rd gear can be driven at) you missed the speed. Put it back into second and bring the car up a little faster than the last time and try again. It will slip in. You are holding against the sycro ring and it won't grind. If you do nothing but grind, that sycro is already gone, maybe the reason for your shifter problems.
But to answer your question. You will throw a rod(basically end of motor).
Could be something simple like linkage adjustment. You didn't say what kind of car. Say so on a car repair site and you will get directions on how to fix.
