If the tie rod is bent it could have been done with a shop jack if it was jacked up manually. I can think of no other way that anyone changing tires could unintentionally harm a tie rod end. The tie rod is a very tough joint and normally takes years of driving abuse to weaken it. If it fell apart it's because it needed replaced.I wanted to know the normal maintance for a car?
