Does the coolant added to the new Honda Civic 2006 come with antifreeze?

Last year I bought a new Honda Civic 2006 EX. Now I am planning to visit Sking areas near to my place. I want to know the coolant came with this car contains antifreeze usually or not. I haven't changed my coolant till now.

Yes, the factory coolant IS antifreeze. If you need to know your current freeze point, the shop that does your oil changes should be able to test it for you. If you have never added anything to it, you should be OK on a 2006. Have the coolant changed every 3 yrs. or 30,000 miles.

It is also called antifreeze because it doesn't freeze. Some people will use water in the summer as coolant because it works and obviously water won't freeze in the summer.

Coolant has anti-freeze in it. Anti-freeze also raises the boiling point of coolant to stop boil over. Just go to any shop and have it tested to make sure its the correct mixture.

Coolant is the modern word for antifreeze. I'd suggest when you change that you get the premix type. Yeah, I know, why would I want to pay for water? I can get that out of the faucet. But in the premix you have a lot purer water than what comes out of the faucet at the house.

I would check with a dealer before changing the coolant though. Some coolant, like in new VWs is 100,000 mile coolant. If you have coolant that is good for 50,000 miles, it would be a waste to change it at 10,000
