I agree with Bobweb. I'd say it's the flexihose from the caliper has broken down inside. Take it off - you should be able to blow through it without much resistance at all.

Maybe the brake hose on the left wheel needs replacing. Maybe it isn't releasing the brake fluid pressure when you release the brake pedal. But first lubricate the caliper pins to make sure the pads can move properly.
