Question:
This morning when I tried to start my car it wouldnt start. I tried twice and on the third time it started, but when it started it let this loud 5 second squeak out and than it ran just fine. What could it be? Could the fact that the weather was 13 degrees have something to do with it?

Car hums when car is started and only when i decelerate?
That is normal because of the cold. Your belts were squeaking when you started the car, also due to cold. Dont worry your car is fine, at least it started. :)The loud squeak was probably the belts rubbing on the pulleys. As far as not starting right away the 13 degree temp definitely will cause that. Once a year at most every other is what I do you should change out your antifreeze so that your engine coolant doesn't freeze inside the engine causing damage. Really cold weather for a whole slew of other reasons will cause your engine to have a hard time starting. You should probable look into investing in a block heater for your vehicle if the temperatures drop that low. Its basically a electric blanket designed for your engine. Just make sure you read the instruction carefully before using. Nothing is better for your vehicle than regular maintenance by someone who knows what they are doing under the hood.
Rattling sound when I drive my car?
Yes the cold weather dose make a car harder to start. The squeak you heard probably was your belt slipping because it was cold.I would still check it and make sure it's in good shape and tight, if you see a bunch of little cracks in it have it changed.
Also check your battery and see how many cold cranking amps it has, your battery may not be bad but if it has low cold cranking amps its harder to turn your engine over. It may also help to cover the front of your car to keep the wind off.

You need to go to the nearest auto zone and ask them to check your battery and the alternator as well for free. Then, be sure to check the alternator belt and the starter as well. And be sure you have enough antifreeze in your engine. If it,s time to tune up the engine just go ahead and do so.

What was the cu. in. displacement of the engine used in this model of school bus?
could be weather if it was the weather you'd want to start your car and let it run for like 8 to 10 minutes top and start going forward at a crawling pace when you first start out and then you want to slowly accellorate as you go along, and you also want to make sure your belts are tight...More Questions & Answers ...
