When I start the car it takes a while for it to actually start up, then when I move into Drive and accelurate it seems like something is holding the car back. I just got new breaks and it has gas in it but something is keeping the car from running like it should.

i have the perfect awner for you its a Lumina. I had a 95 Lumina and once it started acteding up thats all it did. I replace 1 thing after another. I spent over $3,000 in repairs before i said thats it and got ride of it.if i was you i would just not waste me time with it and get a new car.Can a VW beetle soft top be put through a car wash?
If you have alot of miles on the car, you might check the Catalytic Converter...They can get clogged up and cause back pressure which will cause a drastic loss of power...You can test this by having someone feel the volume of air out of the tail pipe while you accelerate in park or neutral...If you continue to drive the car with a clogged up Catalytic, sometime you can see it glow red underneath the car from running so hot..
