Starter problem, maybe the solenoid. How do you replace the Belt Tensioner on a 1998 Ford Ranger 4 Cyl.?
It sounds like your starter solenoid is sticking. Replace it and you should take care of the prob. I have had it happen on several occassions. Fairly simple replacement, it's located on the fenderwell just in front of the strut tower on the drivers side. If I remember right I think it costs between $15 and $20, good luck!!!I have a 1986 Mercedes 560sl. It takes time to start. The ABS light and O2 sensor light are on?
Get a new starter it sounds too me that the Bendix in the starter is bad!picture of a steering box for a 65 chevy truck 1/2 ton?
I would think its the starter solonoid. Unhook the trigger wire off the solonoid, red with blue tracer wire. If it is still cranking then the solonoid is bad, if it stops then there is a short in the trigger wire. Also try tapping the solonoid when it is acting up and see if it stops.Check the timing and every marks must be on line, of course this should do it a mech.
