If you live where it is cold a 3 pound coffee tin with some candles, matches, granola bars and a tin cup. if you get stuck in the snow the tin holds the candle for some warmth, snow in the cup can be melted for water and the granola for food. kitty litter of sand, if you get stuck can be used for traction, and the extra weight in the trunk might help with traction on rwd cars.
