Question:
i have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 5.2 which has about 58k miles. it seemed the truck wasnt getting as good gas mileage as it was when i bought it so i did a tune up on it and when i put new spark plugs in, i got better mileage but a slightly rough idle, anything i did wrong or that i can do to give it a smooth idle? it still has the same plug wires but they look new and the truck always idle'd smooth until i changed the plugs.

How do I clean spilt coca cola on the perspex covering the car speedo?
You crossed 2 wires. Double check the fireing order.Wrong wire to wrong spark plug. (2)
It takes the engine a little while to become accustomed to the new plugs. It will have to get the dwell angle adjusted, etc. It should straighten itself out in a couple of days.

Santro, just buying new may not be the problem solver sometimes you can buy bad new plugs. when it is dark open the hood see if you see fire jumping from ( IE sparks) plug wires. wires can look good and still have stress cracks or breaks.Good LuckMore Questions & Answers ...
