Question:
I purchased a service agreement that supposedly replaces tires. The agreement does NOT mention the reasons or limitations of tire replacement. My tire went flat but they are saying the agreement doesn't cover punctures, it only covers tire wear to below 3/32.
The problem is: the agreement doesn't mention why or when they will replace the tire. In fact there is no mention of punctures or tire wear limitations whatsoever. What other reason would a tire be replaced?
Please give your opinion as I am trying to get my agreement price refunded.
Answers:
Besides normal wear and punctures, a tire would need replacement because:
1. manufacturing defect. there are nylon and polyester belts within your tire. these belts can pull out of position or snap, causing noise, a car that pulls to the side, vibration, and perhaps spawning more breaks leading to a blowout.

2. wear due to bad owner behavior. peeling out. underinflating or overinflating tires. taking turns very fast. not having your wheels aligned correctly. worn out suspension/steering parts.

Most warrantys don't cover anything that's "your fault" and generally a screw or nail is considered your fault, as is hitting a pothole that causes a problem. I understand yours doesn't seem to spell this out but generally warranty's are only good for problems proven to be the manufacturer's fault.
