High end breaks that sqweak?

Question:
I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. Just bought it and the dealer just put on new breaks and rotors all around. It sqweaks everytime I stop and go in reverse... they said it'd a special kind of high-end break pad with metal in it, nothing they can do about it. That shounds like bull-loney to me. Oh and that this truck only can take those special pads... any ideas?

An 03 Trail Blazer isn't anything special at all. The dealer pads actually suck and wear out real fast. I have gotten some squeaking from the NAPA Application Engineered pads, but you may have just gotten screwed.

Pads were improperly broken in on the new rotors- Machine rotors and surface pads then do the breakin.

So much noise when i drive?

Depending on when you did your breaks it could be the squealers. Meaning that your brake pads are worn down and need to be replaced. If they're brand new it could be you just need to wear them in, or the caliper is not set right.

Engine knocks...?

well it could be that the rotors are dirty but if they are new that would not make any sence. the pads may need to be worn in a bit but usually the brakes should be fine after the replacement.

Are the bolts in Ford vehicles (such as the bolts that screw the seat down, etc.) metric or not?

check the brake calipers for fouling from your old pads, you can get a can of brake cleaner that will get most of the stuff off of them if they are too dirty.

How does a person go about installing a new muffler on a car?

i own a repair shop, and they probably told you right ,some of the high dollar pads and shoes will squeak for a while until the get seated in,i use a cheaper shoe they don't do this, most of my customers don't like the squealing noise, and would rather replace the pads more often than hear the noise but some high end shoes will do that, good luck i hope this helps.
