i own a repair shop and there's no way to truthfully answer than without having it scanned ,its probably a sensor on it,but for me to tell you exactly which one it is, i cant ,and neither can anyone else, have it scanned ,auto zone does it for free, and they can tell you for sure what it is,then you,ll know, don't go buying anything for it until you know for sure whats wrong with it, it gets expensive after a while buying things that don't help one, good luck i hope this helps. Will a car drive ok after it has been sitting for 2 years?
Hello this is only a suggestion , i work for a manufacture of fuel systems and gas caps. on most newer auto's are controlled by an on board computer the fuel system works on a closed vacuum system if there is a vacuum leak this will cause the check engine light come on .When you place your cap back on the filler neck turn it to the right till you here it click three times this causes the housing assembly to seal more tightly and hence the computer don't find a vacuum leak. if this don't work take to a certified mechanic this could be a sensor problem good luck.
