Maintenance required light on 2007 Toyota YAris? Got the oil change, but light wont go off?

Question:
Since i didn't so the oil change at the dealer, they didn't reset the light. Is there a way I can do it myself? This car automatically turns on this light as a reminder to get your oil change every 5000 (according the manual). PLEASE help, the little light is driving me crazy!

You need to reset the lite. Hold in the trip meter button and then turn the ignition key to the on position. The lite should blink and then go out. Only a few seconds to reset it.
Then your good until you reach the next reminder.

Before having an oil change, is it good to have your engine flushed clean using an engine flush treatment ?

take it to the dealership. is the light a 5000 mile reminder or is it the general check engin light? if it is a light for regular maintenance then there is a way to reset it.
