Audi A4 Lower Control Arm / Link?
ASH! as in burning the car?Looking for a safe motor mount?
I have never heard of any such thing. How can i fix a crack in my radiator?
Some one has been telling you tales, and any way if you put ash in your motor it would maybe sound quieter for a few minute then it would stop for ever, some not so honest car dealers used to put grease and gear oil into the motors so they would not rattle as much to sell the car but once you did an oil change you would be back where you started, and most sophisticated modern cars would not stand that sort of treatmentWhat would be a ball park figure for a brake job on a mid 90s Chevy lumina?
Ash would cause the oil pump to clog and you would know as soon as you started the car that the engine was bad. Also it would show on the dipstick. Bad car dealers used to use 90 weight oil to make engines run quiet but this also shows on the dipstick. I would recommend STP oil treatment if you are having a problem.2002 Jeep Liberty AC wont work?
Isn't STP one of the companys that ended up in court in the US for making false claims ?Ash is also not a good idea. Using the next grade of oil up can help in some cases, as can using an oil flush.
But it really depends on the source of the noise. A good way of tracing noises is by listening with a long screwdriver to your ear.
A rattle type noise from the top of the engine that you often get with older engines comes from the tappets. Older ones can be easily adjusted (supposed to be done when serviced) and if the cam/followers/tappets aren't too warn can be made quiet, this is an easy job with a workshop manual. More modern hydraulic ones can be stripped and cleaned but this can be a more involved job (possibly too complex for the inexperienced) using an oil flushing solution can help in this case.
Whines, grinds and other bearing type noises can often be dry/worn alternator bearings or similar. As with any noise from an external component the simple cheap option is to replace the part with a recon or one from a breakers. (many breakers even do guarantees these days)
If it's a deep sounding knock it's likely to be a bottom end problem, nothing you can do to make that quiet and don't expect it to keep runing for long.
Head Gaskets, 99 Plymouth Voyager?
No way, i used to be in the trade many years ago and i know that some used cat sales places used old stockings as these would wrap around the moving parts and quieten the engine but modern cars are much more finely engineered these days and no engine would tolerate this sort of treatment. However if you can log onto the www.goodgaragescheme you will find a garage that stocks forte products in your area and I recommend that before you try expensive oils try adding their oil fortifier as it helps the oil maintain its viscosity level throughout the temperature range. Good luckWhats the firing order on my 93 chevy cavailer?
