car inspection?

It depends on lots of factors, but since I've been using a pure synthetic oil and putting an Engine Sentry into the filter, I am going twice the prescribed interval. If you've go that many miles without troubles, then I'm sure you're okay! Save that $$$ for more fun things!

Why flickering lights on a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan only when the van is running.?

depends on how you drive, what sosrt of miles you put on, how long it takese you to put 3,000 miles on, lots of things. I usually go 5k before an oil change.especially with the high tech oils they have now.

Whats the best place to put a ground wire?

you don't need to change every 3k, depends on many factors, engine type, driving conditions, pulling trailers, carrying heavy loads. There is always a range 3k for heavy use, 5k for easy use...you are fine

How do the muffler shop do to cut off the muffler??

I have a fleet of trucks and feel that it depends on how you are putting on the miles if you are doing mostly highway miles you could probably extend by a couple of thousand miles if you are mostly doing short trips and frequently starting and stopping your engine you should stick to the 3000.

Im hearing squeaking noises only in the front of the car whenever I go over bumps. Should I change my shocks?

With newer technology in the development of oils, it can be changed every 5 Thousand or so. I would not exceed that. Remeber that the oil is the "Blood" of your auto. If it gets low or overused, the auto will react in an adverse way.

I just bought a 97 Ford Escort LX. My fuel hand is stuck. I was wondering if it could be the sending unit.?

No it is not necessarily every 3k. When you change your oil depends on many factors, as addressed above. Certainly it wouldn't hurt your car to change every 3k mi. I would suggest, that since your truck has over 100k mi. on it that you check your oil about once or twice a week(normally when you stop to fill up with gas.) This will help you Gage if you need to top off your oil(which is important), if your engine is getting sludge in it, and if you do need an oil change.

'90 Nissan 240sx dies when I stop.?

I think it is if you want to keep your truck forever. I have two chev. trucks and they both have over 300,000 miles on them and they still run like new. I change the oil and grease them every 3000 miles.

95 cadillac deville battery drain?

at over 100K, it's wiser to change the oil every 3k to extend the life of your engine. you can go longer but you shorten your engine life incrementally every time.

how do i open my power converter, my rabbit ate the cord and i want to fix it, or do i have to buy aa new cord

I sitll don't get people. A new truck should cost $30-$80,000. An oil change costs $10 and takes 15 minutes. At 100,000 miles, I think you should be doing it every 3,000 miles, especially since it's a truck...hit your filter as well each time. There are a lot of oils out there that claim up to 15,000 miles between changes, but a lot of the manufacturers recommend less, sometimes 3-5,000 miles. In a newer, maybe still under warranty truck, do whatever the manual says.

My stick shift car starts, but doent run. What is the problem?

But seriously...it's $10 for piece of mind. Nothing ever happens if you change your oil too often, but vice versa could cost you your ride.

Can anyone give me info on a transmission additive called Transmatic Slippage Control Product?

I really don't think so. I just change mine twice per year, once in Spring and once in Fall. I drive a normal amount of miles. 3000 mile changes are just a way to rip you off.
