Question:
Im pretty sure I blew the head gasket in my 1992 ford ranger, there was oil everywhere and smoke coming out of where you put the oil in and whitish smoke cominmg out of the exhaust, I put more oil in it and drove it the three miles home, if the gasket is blown can I use a head gasket from a '93 ford ranger, or not, I really have no idea, did I blow the seals? If I did blow the gasket what all do I have to replace, just the gasket or what else? Or can I use the parts off the other '93 ford ranger? I just want to know which is cheaper, buying the 150$ truck or a 600$ gasket, Im really not sure but if you could help me out I would appreciate it.

Turbo diesel engine trouble, hard to start...?
i own a repair shop and it sounds like you blown this engine up ,just blowing a head gasket wont blow oil over everything under the hood, but when an engine blows up it will, and it sounds like it may have blown the engine and blown a head gasket, you would really have to tear it down and see how much damage is actually done to it ,before you can decide on whether to fix it or not,it may cost you way more than the truck is worth to repair it,good luck with it i hope this helps.Workshop manual for VW Polo 2003 (UK)?
It sounds to me like maybe its a little more than the head gasket. You need to tear it down to know.1995 dodge neon engine revs high when stopped n stalls when driving.its a automatic?

How to pass the Nox2 Emissions Test?!?
Sounds as though the engine is toasted. Sorry to tell you that, but the combination of oil and smoke is indicative of more than a mere head gasket repair! Tear the engine apart, buy new gaskets if there is no other damage and maybe, just maybe, you may save the head (although I'm pretty sure it's destroyed!). Good luck (and never, never put used head gaskets on a rebuild - always use new gaskets!)What doe sit mean when an engine is bored over?
Let me start by saying.Never ever buy a Ford again. We have a 2001 Taurus and we had a blown head gasket. We never knew. No overheating, no blowing smoke. Suddenly one day our oil was almost gone. We found the oil in the freakin oil in the radiator resevoir. We had to buy a new engine. My husband says if you don't see oil in the radiator res. it could be that you need a valve gasket. If your head gasket is truly blown, you need an engine. The first idiot we went to told us it was a valve gasket, so we paid for that and drove around for 6 mos. like that.are you losing water? an is your oil white on your dipstick?if so yes you blowed a head gasket. and i wouldnt use any used head gasket on it be better off buying new ones!an if its cost $600 for new ones the you better look some where else for that much you could buy new heads.good luck with your $600 dollor head gasket
