How do you remove a peugeot 106 blanking switch?

Question:
you know the ones beside the cigarette lighter and hazard light switch

Answers:

When I turn the wheel on my Kia, their is a subtle squeaking sound, but it is in the suspension somewhere..

Best bet is to get the Peugeot 106 Haynes manual. I only managed to find out after I bought the manual.
If you have a Phase 2 Peugeot then first you have to pull the fan heater knob off. Its a bugger to get off. It too me an hour to get mine off. The manual suggests putting cardboard on the switch, and using a pair of pliers to pull out. I used ducting tape. I wound it round the knob, and it gave me enough leverage to pull off.
Once youve done that you swill see a star shaped screw. You have to unscrew it, and pull off the ventilation, and heater controls.
PLEASE! Remember to set them in the middle so you can put them back again. They simply pull off.
Once youve done this you can pull the console to gain access to the blanking switches.
If you need full access, the manual suggests you also take out the stereo, and also the vents to get full access.
Get the Haynes manual. It helps a bit, because it does have photgraphs
