Heater for my car is not heating up like the past?

Question:
Hi im Reposting a Question i had up a little bit ago..I have a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier 4 cyl. it has about 82,500 miles on it. We just replaced the Head Gaskit becuase it was blown. Before all this i replaced the Therm in it because it wasn't opening up after that i replaced the Water Pump in it...that didnt seem to work i head gaskit was to blow on the car to cool it down so i replaced my head gaskit later found out the the cooling system was airbound..i got all the air out of the system becuase when the air was in it, it would get hot about 3/4 redlines at 260*F before replacing my head gaskit my heater worked like a dream now it just blows cool-warm air out of it...when the heat starts to work i will only work for a short amount of time then just cool air comes out...there are not leaks anywhere..everything is like it was just i dont have heat very much..idk if i need a new heater core because i do get heat at times just not hot...please help me :)

i have a 1995 arctic cat 580 ext snow mobile with aftermarket reverse, anyone know how to fix or have manual?

#1 Keep an eye on your coolant recovery tank. With a small magic marker mark the antifreeze leval when the engine is cold mark again when its hot. If the leval does not change more than a half an inch. Change the radiator cap, make sure that it's actually a cap designed for a coolant recovery system. Stant caps are the best. Start the car when it's stone cold. Hold the top hose in your hand. It should remain stone cold untill the thermostat opens. It will get hot quickly (TOO HOT TO TOUCH) after the engine has been on for 8-10 minutes..If your hand senses the hose getting warm slowly and not really getting hot enough to take your hand off the hose the stat. is bad. If you need a new one go to NAPA and ask for their latest and greatest on to replace yours. With the heater motor off move the heat selector button to the hottest position. BOTH hoses in and out should be too hot to touch. If the hose going into the core is blazing hot and the hose coming out of the heater core is only warm or cool there's a good chance your heater core is partially plugged. When refilling some engine blocks try to block up the car so that the radiator fill hole is at the highest point. Slowly fill the cooling system. Start it for 5-10 seconds and shut it off. See if the leval has dropped if so fill it up again. Repeat this step at least three times. Finally, have some one else start the car and you watch the antifreeze inside of the radiator. If you see any circulation at all your thermostst is bad. If the fluid does not circulate the stat. is good for now. At this point with a new cap drive the car again and re-mark the recovery bottle and fillit to the 3/4 mark . When your block and cylinder head dave purged itself of air the levals will stabilize the fluid will be mush higher hot and much lower when cold 2 -2 1/2 inches lower. If none of this works go to your local Chevy dealer and ask them to pressure check your cooling system. If everything is functioning properly your cooling system will hold at 15psi over night. If not you have a leak in your radiatior or a bad connection at your heater hoses or a leak in your heater core antifreeze leaves a liquid track any where it drips it's eaey to find the leak. If you find no leaks the head or block may have a another bad headgasket, crack or either surface may not be flat. If you decide to take the head off again take it to a racing engine shop. they have measurement equipment that's second to none. If your sence of smell is good you may smell antifreeze inside of your car, it's a sickening sweet smell. When this happens tou have a core leak inside your car. The pressure tester can be turned around to check your radiator cap also. It should hold the stamped face side pressure also.

Can running a car starter engine for a long period, damage the engine?

have you changed the thermostat?

are slvanna silverstar headlights, the next best thing to HID?

My old car had a slow leak in the radiator hose and leaked antifreeze. When the antifreeze got too low it would only blow out cold air when I turned the heat on. Check your antifreeze and make sure it's full.

Any one know about EGR valves going bad & what your car acts like.?

Well here is what I think is going on.

Does my 2004 Toyota Camry LE (4 cylinder) have a timing belt or a timing chain?

If you don't have air in the heater core.
there is a good possibility that when you were doing all of that work to your car that some thing could have got in to the antifreeze system and plugged the heater core.

300ZX leaking brake fluid internally, any ideas?

So my suggestion to you is to get a antifreeze flush. Hope fully that should not cost you over $90. Give that a try and see what happens

Good Luck

I have a Jeep and the overdrive dose not work. Were can I go in the net to get help to fix it or do u know how

#1 Check coolant level, make sure to check the radiator too, when the motor is cool only though.
#2 If it is low or gone check for leaks
#3 Spend $10 on a new thermostate.
#4. Sell that Cavalier while you still can.
