Alternator belt, and power steering belt?

Depending on where you are contact your local consumer affairs branch as that should be covered in your basic 3 month warranty! Otherwise Harrass The place you bought it from & shame them into giving you your repairs by parking the car out the front of the dealership & Informing any customer that is looking at the cars on the lot of what they may expect when buying from the place of buisness! This Has Worked For Me Once Or Twice In The Past

If the 3 month warranty states that the powertrain is covered, they need to fix it.

I have a stain on my car, and every claner I use doesn't work, does any one have any sugestions?

Take a copy of your warranty agreement to the local citizens advice and let them look at it.If you had finance on the car through the garage then tell the garage owner that you are going to get in touch with the finance company to tell them that the car is faulty and not up to the job.Chances are the garage will offer to do something about it cause they do not want to lose the finance co business.Local trades and standards authority will also look into it aswell for you.Good luck and dont be afraid to mention these organisations in front of the garage owner as it will get them thinking that you have done your homework and they might come to a better arrangement over the price of the repair

Right now, there really isn't anything you can do about the issue your facing. Thou I would locate another shop willing to repair the damaged head gasket on a fixed income bases.

65,000 Mile Check-up?j?

Contact Trading standards, every thing sold in the uk must be fit for purpose and have at least a three month warranty, the second thing is write (not phone) a letter to the garage detailing when you bought the car, how many miles youve put on it and demand your money back or another car, and give them 1 week to resolve the issue before you will take court action, if after a week nothing is happening start court proceedings, they will loose or it will cost as much defending thier actions, they will make a commercial desicion to satisfy you
one more thing, in my opinion don't settle for having this car fixed, from my experience rover 214's are never right after the head gasket has blown, get another car of them, but act swift is the key and don't let things get protracted by them. Good Luck

Why do some cars allow the lights to stay on after removing the keys?

Rovers are prone to head gaskets going when the car has overheated and it often means that the head has become distorted as well. Then there is a second set of problems caused by the mixture of the oil and the water. This is going to get real expensive.

Should you change both headlamps on your car at the same time?

It depends how much you have paid for the car, if not too much scrap it, more than £500 then maybe its worth repairing. Might be simplest just to replace the whole engine

How do you replace roof lining with no exsisting lining, metal only?

Do you have a copy of this basic warranty, or did the shop owner just give you his word..It depends on why you blew the head gasket..have you been checking the coolant and has it been running warmer than usual..Heck, you could have bought the rover with premature problems already... Could have had a blown head gasket and the shop just patched it..with engine block seal in the coolant..radiator might have already been leaking and the water pump also...or even a bad thermostat...but if you have a temperature guage..Its there for a reason..to look at, just to be checking...In the 7 weeks, have you added any coolant to rover and if you did..why didn't you take it back then..do you have any visable signs of a coolant leak... If not then running it so hot that it blows the head gasket, is called human neglect.heck you could even have bad temp. sending unit, and how was the rover checked for a blown head gasket...Let me know.. email me back at gottspeed7883@yahoo,com

Vauxhall Agila. Peculiarity with handbrake?

Head gaskets would come under wear and tear in the small print of most warranties. Also a rover 214 is a fairly old car now and I'm assuming you paid fairly cheaply for it. Probably under £1500.

Someone states rightly that under sale of goods legislation it must be fit for purpose 'WHEN SOLD'. As it was running ok when you bought it you cant use that argument.

Well you're between a rock and a hard place. The garage wouldn't have been able to predict the gasket failing, and a 3 month warranty isn't normally worth the paper is written on.
Just be prepared as Rovers tend to need a new cylinder head too if it has been driven after the gasket failed.
You'll just have to get it repaired I'm afraid.
