FIAT Punto MK1 Lights Flashing Dim and Wrong Lights Flash on car - any ideas what might be wrong?

Question:
We have a Mk1 Fiat Punto S55 - Recently the indicator lights have been acting strange. When you put on the Hazzard warning lights the side lights seem a little extra bright and the front and rear yellow flashing lights appear off and the actual brake lights seem to flash dimly. When you indicate left or right then the rear yellow flashes come on and off but dimly - Also when the hazzard warning lights are flashing the little light on the button for the rear fog lamp as flashes on and off which shouldn't happen - does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be?
