I suggest that you change the oil when ever it needs to be changed and always check the oil level.Replacing positive side battery terminal?
We offer a rebuild service on these blowers and usually around 60,000-120,000 miles we start to see these blowers coming in for rebuild. Most of these owners never change or even check the oil in these units. Usually all the units that come in have a nasty gray look to the oil. This is BAD! A lot of times the oil smells very nasty too. And 20% of the time there is barley no oil in it. I know if people checked the oil and even changed it, the life on these blowers will last longer.
I suggest every 3,000 miles to check it. Check the color of the oil and smell it. If you want to be on the safe side just change it every time you change the oil out in your car.
My 06 envoy sat for a day and a half, nothing left on.went to start it yesterday and it was dead!why?
Now these blowers use a special oil. They come in small 4oz bottles and if I recall your application will need two bottles. The oil is called "supercharger oil" from GM. I know the GM dealership can order it or you can get it from a specialty shop like ours that always have it in stock.
Just be smart and change the oil all the time, it will save you several $100 of dollars down the road.
