Perhaps your battery is dying. My battery on a former vehicle died and the alarm went off until i yanked the siren's wires out.

Perhaps a loose battery wire is causing this alarm's behavior, same kind of thing as the above reason.

The 98 Camaro isn't equipped with a factory alarm, so whatever alarm you have in there is an after-market add-on. From what you're describing, it sounds like you were having trouble starting the car before the alarm went off. It sounds to me like you may have a battery problem, and the low battery caused the alarm problem rather than the other way around. Many after-market alarms will go completely haywire when they're connected to a low battery.

Try hooking the car up to a battery charger, or to another vehicle's battery with jumper cables. If the alarm will arm and disarm with the charger connected, and the vehicle will start once the battery's charged, then have your car's battery checked. If it's bad, then replacing it should solve all your problems.

Strut bars affect wheel alignment?

sounds like your having issues with the pats module on the vehicle... thats the passive anti-theft system.. it could be something simple as a ground problem to a more complex internal failure of the pats. best bet is get it to a shop that can electronically diag the system with a computer to see if it is storing any trouble codes in the memory system... that will tell you alot about whats going on. dont even bother with places like autozone and such, as there systems can not collect data from the pats module. your looking at more then likely the dealership diagnostics machines... sorry to be the barer of bad news.
