how long to fit a starter motor to a mondeo st24 t reg?
Frayed speedometer cable. Get one from a dealer or from a junkyard, the part shouldn't be more than about $30. I doubt that it's difficult to replace yourself, but it does require some contortions under the dash and onto the transmission to get at both ends. If it is difficult on your Cavalier, you can contact a local independent mechanic to take care of it. Have fun!i have a 1991 ford f150 were is the starter?

I'm afraid it's gonna be the speedo head itself. The sensor on the tranny usually just quits, doesn't cause the trouble you describe.1999 Toyota Camry transmission?/engine?/starter? problem?
Either a frayed cable or needs lube.At the back of the speedo, there's a large knurled nut. Loosen the nut remove cable (actually, a sheath, drive cable is inside). Remove inner cable. Lube with high temperature grease (disc brake wheel bearing grease). DO NOT lube last 6 inches of cable that goes into speedo, you'll gum it up! Reinstall inner cable into outer sheath. At the end, you'll have to turn the inner cable as you seat it, to engage drive. Reinstall sheath to rear of speedo, tighten nut, grab a beer, it's Miller time!
