Whats wrong with a dirt bike that starts up but you have to keep giving it gas to keep it started?

Check the idle screw on the side of the carburator, you might need to screw it in, this will increase the engine speed.

Fuel adjustment or you need to adjust the valves.If the intake valve is leaking you loose fuel.If the exhaust valve leaks you loose fuel and compression.The exhaust is the one that gives more trouble.
