Car is not turning is it the starter?

I checked the alternator and the battery all are functioning it is the starter that is not turning. I was told it was also the engine but i don't believe it is affected

Hit the starter with a rubber mallet a couple times sometimes that will make that starter work 1 last time. If it starts after that replace the starter.

Its easy to check the battery give it a good charge and try to start it. You could tell if the alternator is bad if the battery you just charged doesn't hold its charge.

So it is not even turning over or it acts like it wants to? If it's the starter it may not even turn over depending on the problem take it out there are only two bolts holding it in and undo the wiring make sure you unhook the battery first so you don't spark on something and ruin the electrical. Then take it to your nearest Autozone or Checkers and have them check it to know for sure

Less likely is it actually the engine, starter's are magnets don't ever let anyone just replace parts in your starter just the starter in whole itself... But if you could provide year make and model and sounds that come from the car open one of the windows and tell me what you hear and then I could provide more information...
