Question:
The transmission has been acting up for a year its the 3rd transmission since i have had it and i really like the van it just has transmission problems. I had a mechanic look at it but he couldnt figure anything else but get a new transmission. I dont want to get a new transmission and have it get messed up again.
What else could be Wrong with it?
Now it doesn't run at all it will start up but when you put it in drive and hit the gas it just revs up like its in neutral. then i tried putting it in reverse and it just revs up. If i put transmission fluid in it, when i go to try it with the transmission fluid it just spits it out on the ground really fast.
What can I do besides get a new car?
is there anything else that could be causing the transmission to get messed up so many times?

You really haven't given us enough information for an informed answer. If you have put in 3 junk yard transmissions, perhaps they were all bad. If you put in rebuilds, I would hope they had some type of warranty and would be fixed if they failed. If you bought new ones, they surely would stand behind them and make them right. Which was it?
Something drains the car battery idunno what... help?
I'd buy a new or rebuilt with a good warranty behind it, and be done with it.
what solvent do i use in my parts washer?
Have a different mechanic look at it. Either the trans is seized and you need a brand new one from the factory or there is too much pressure on the gears to shift. Hope this helpshow can I tell if my car's speedometer is not working?
I would say it has blown the torque convertor seal, not a hard fix but easy to damage the seal during reassembly, most transmission failures can be traced to overheating, make sure your oil cooler is adequate and working, if in doubt fit another.More Questions & Answers ...
