I just bought a 90 Chevy 1500 4x4. the original 5.7 engine was swapped w/ a 98 5.7. is this engine OK for tbi?

Question:
All the 90 tbi componets were installed on the 98 engine. is this all compatable? are the years of the engines to far apart for the tbi unit to work effectivly? does anyone know if the bore and stroke are the same for the two engines? any help would be great, thank you
