Question:
My car looks like it has dandruff. There is a crusty white film that is very flaky that you can scrape off with your nails or tool. The paint underneath this crusty layer is fine and looks good. It's just that they very top layer of my car is cracking away. It's most likely either oxidation or just that the protective coating they put on the car during the manufacturing process is now just dried up and flaking. Is there any kind of product that gets rid of that? Or any suggestions to remove it?
Answers:
The only thing you can do is go to a body shop have them scrape the old clear coat off and repaint the car.

take it to a detailer.sounds like the clearcoat is peeling off. only way I know hoe to fix it is to buff it down and respray a new coat of clear on it. Might try using some rubbing compound in and inconspicuous area and work it down and then buff and polish to see how it looks.
