What's wrong with my car?!?

Question:
My car is acting really weird. It's a 2003 Mercury Cougar, and usually is very reliable. But lately I have a really hard time accelerating it, and it also kind of shakes when it goes above like 50 mph. I'm gonna take it to a mechanic soon but I have school so it won't be for a few days. Help! Does anyone know what's wrong?

I had a 99 contour with the same problem it was the fuel pump or the screen that goes on fuel pump.Not really sure but all so check your plug wires.good luck

Car Problems: Can anyone advice please?

i own a repair shop and it could be anything with it,it sounds like it may have a miss-fire in it though causing this to happen and that could be caused by a bad plug wire or a bad plug,it may just need a good tune up,and also a bad fuel filter or a fuel pump can cause this also,as you see there's a lot of things on cars today that can cause this to happen,all of this will have to be checked though for any mechanic to be sure he gets the right thing,it shouldn't be an expensive repair though ,but you never know with the newer cars,good luck i hope this helps.
