How does Valvoline Syn Power compare to other synthetic oils?

The door that directs the air in your ventilation system is not working properly. A 2005 is likely under warranty. Take it back to the dealer. They will fix it for free.

When should I be concerned with an oil leak in purchasing a used car?

If it is no longer under warranty, and you want to fix it yourself, buy a manual for your Jeep, written by either Chilton's or Haynes. These are available at any parts store, and are about $10. They will walk you through this repair, and many others.

Check for a vacum line off probably some where along the firewall usually a small plastic line witha rubber end. Most Chrysler products go into the firewall by the master cylinder along with a wiring harness. The vacum motors automatically default to defrost. Check on the engine around intake manifold should have a vacum port on it sometimes lines will break there.
