Question:
This afternoon I stopped to get gas - car was almost on E. Car took $38 of car. When I went to start the car, the fuel gauge was still on the same spot. Just to be sure the problem wasn't at the gas pump, I stopped at another place - car only took about 20 cents, so I know it's full.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong? I would hate to bring car in for something if it's an easy fix.
Thank you!!

MY TRUCK WON'TGO OVER 55MPH WHEN I'M PULLING A TRAILER empty OR LOADED THIS JUST RECENTLY STARTED?
First of all get under the car and give the tank a couple of good hits with your hand. If the guage won't move you will need to get some one to ground the hot wire to the fuel tank sending unit, If the gauge moves up you have a bad fuel tank sending unit, if the gauge doesn't move you have a bad gauge. What do I do when my power window doesn't work?
But don't for get you do have a fuel gauge fuse, so check that
first. And also check for a bad connection at the fuel tank.
How do I get my trunk to open when I push the button?

1990 Cherokee 4.0 slow to start?
The gage is bad or the 'sending unit' in the fuel tank is bad.if still under warrenty take it to the dealer ship or find a credible palce to get it replaced
My 1999 Mitsubishi Spacestar 1.8 GDI has failed MOT on emissions!?
i own a repair shop and it may have either blown a fuse for the gages or the sending unit maybe stuck, or has went out on it its not that old of a car so it might just be stuck on it,usually they don't give problems when there this new,if it keeps not working have it checked out ,it could either be a bad fuse or a bad sending unit on it,good luck i hope this helps.the float is stuck in the tank.i dont know if this will help, but try shaking the car back and forth.it might shake the float loose.if it dont, then you will have to have the tank droped and fixed.
The u.s. is a total mess. if people say love it or leave it i'll leave it?
Same problem on the ford ranger I had, what i did was:find out how much it is to replace. if it to much for you to afford at the moment. figure how many miles you can drive before you get low on gas then use the trip setting on the odometer to keep track of you mileage. When you get close to that mark fill her up. I believe they use a similar engine to in my zx2 and I get around 300 mile on a 11 gallon tank. So go about 200 then refill it until you can afford to fix the gage.
