Question:
hi I was wondering if anyone out there has had a problem with an s10 losing power occasionally? I have a '95 with 115,000 miles on it, it is a 4.3L engine. It idles just fine so I don't think its the EGR valve, the oil does not smell like gas so I don't think its a leaking CPI. It only seems to lose power something like every other time I drive somewhere and if I left off on the gas and try accelerating again it usually resolves the problem. The gas mileage isn't what it used to be, only 16 or 17 MPG vs the 20 it used to get. Also, every once in a while I detect a slight gas smell when I arrive at my destination. I know these things can be hard to diagnose and before I just start replacing things, any thoughts?
