It is most likely a belt by your description. Get them checked as soon as possible.If you take a bar of soap and rub the inside of the belt it will keep it from squealing temporarily, but you still need to get it replaced.

yip it does sound like a worn belt of some worn bearingsmost likely a belt if you know what a worn belt looks like then just look at them and replace the one that needs it.
