How do I replace the Key Ignition on my Plymouth Voyager?

Question:
I lost my keys and need to make a new set. I called a lock smith who said to take out the ignition and bring it in. However I am not a mechanic and can not figure out how to remove it.

You'll have to pull off the steering wheel.
Advance Auto Parts (if you're near there) will let you rent tools now, if you don't have a steering wheel puller.

Awful grinding when turning steering wheel?

this will take some time, so be patient and dont get frustrated because its possible. you have to go under the entire sterring wheel and there should be screws there, take all of them off and then the plastics on both the top and bottom that cover the wheel mount should come off. then you will see the ignition, and you need to CAREFULLY take the screws out from there. Your on your own from there though because all ignitions are different. Good luck hope I helped

i have had to topup my radiator with water...will i need to top up the anti freeze??

Take it to a mechanic. There are so many ways to mess that up, I wouldn't even want to consider trying it again. Lots of times, they us breakaway boltheads, so you have to drill the old screws out. And getting past the turn signal indicator is a nightmare. Also, if somebody turns the wheel while the column is half assembled, they can decapitate the horn wire. And that's just the stuff that's gone wrong for ME.

how big is the gas tank on a 1998 grand prix gt 2 door?

OK forget doing this yourself the ignition barrel on theses are linked to the steering lock and the gear shift u wont get it off easily without the key. Go to the dealer they should be able to get a key number for you or tell you where on the vehicle u can find it .sometimes there on one of the door locks but they should be able to help u at least with a key number u just need to order new key and strip out nothing
