Does your Renault Laguna over heat in centre console causing the cd player to go faulty?

Question:
I have a Renault Laguna 04 plate. When i go on long journeys my cd and radio tends to search during songs causing a second of the song to cut out. this is very annoying especially when you are enjoying the song. I noticed that it only does this on long journeys and when i feel the centre console where my stereo is, it is quite warm. even by my legs when driving it seems very warm and when i take my card key out it is also warm. I have only had it a few months so is this normal or is it a fault.Or does my cd/radio player need replacing because it is overheating.
