Grinding noise from car when veering to the right what is it?
Depends on the car. Is it a 1987 Buick Regal or a 2007 Mercedes S550? Any mechanic would suffice for the former and a reputable dealership for the latter.probably a place that sells engines
I guess we'd kinda need to know where you live first.

AutoZone can read the code for free to let you know what is causing it to come on.My car starts but i have to keep my foot on the gas padel to keep it running?? help..?
go to autozone and ask them to check the code. it could be something really stupid like your gas cap may not be on tight enough. but they should be able to tell you what the problem is and with that info, you can decide to fix yourself or have a garage do it.Goto advanced auto parts and use their computer. They let you use it for free. You just go out in the parking lot and plug it in under the dash on the drivers side. There is like a socket thing under there. Just plug the computer in there and hit send and bring it back inside and they will tell you exactly what made it go on. Chances are, if its a GM vehicle, you just got something wet underneath. Just wait a few days for it to dry off and it should go off on its own.
Why is my car rev'ing on its own?
Um...kind of depends on where you live. I could recommend a great mechanic in Portland, OR but if you're in, say, Florida, that probably won't do you much good.Question about "jump start" product/kit (big yellow box w/jumper cables) I bought on ebay?
AUTOZONE , will read the code for you , and probally be able to tell you what might be wrong , for free.Having an idle problem with a Dodge Stealth?
if you still have warranty on the car then bring it back to the dealer to have it checked out . If not you could bring it to a Dobbs dealer to have them check the light and see whats going on .Autozone and Advanced auto can check your codes, the best place to take the car for an actual repair though is probably either a dealership that sells that kind of car, or a mechanic, ask friends/coworkers/whatever for recomendations. Definately DONT take it to a place that does mostly tires or a branded place like BP Procare/firestone/goodyear/etc typically they all suck at doing anything other than tires and oil changes and are overpriced.
K&N air filter Versus Accel Cool Blue?
Take your car to the dealer for your make of car. They have a computer that they hook up to your car that tells them immediately what the problem is. My dealer told me the most common problem when the "service engine soon" light comes on is a problem with the car's emission system, whatever that is! Good luck.Jump started vehicle and now my stereo won't work, have I burned something out?
Any "AUTOZONE" store will gladly check why the check engine light came on FOR FREE and if you wish they will clear the trouble code. Which will turn the light off.Idle Air Control Motor on a 1998 Grand Prix GTP?
The first thing I do is check my oil and water levels, then check my service chart to see how long it has been since I changed oil or spark plugs. If it has been a while or if either are low, your check engine light will come on. If you can't find the problem that way, you can go to a local parts house such as O'Reilly's or Advanced Auto Parts or NAPA and they can run a check on the codes and find your problem. Other than that, you would have to take it to a reputable garage in your area and have them run a complete computer check on it to find the problem. Most of the time it is something simple if you are only seeing the light and have no noticable problems. Good LUck!!John deer hydrostat rearends take fluids and how much if so?
Three professional mechanics have assured me that those 'check engine' lights are mainly an ache in the 'nether regions' and to be ignored if there is no obvious problem that can be checked by the lay driver. That is...after that first time and check it comes on repeatedly or stays on.
One of the causes is if you shift into reverse (accidentally, let's hope!) while the car is moving forward-even slightly-like while parking...or the opposite. This would be while driver is holding shift lever and sudden halt makes driver ,holding shift lever, suddenly change direction.
Shift levers that are on the 'hump', like my Forester's are especially prone to that sort of error...only once in my case and the damned light stayed on for several miles of driving.
Mechanics reading this are snickering about now, I'll bet, revelling in my lame attempt to explain my opinion. Judge not, lest ye...etc..
