I have replaced my slave cylinder on my 03 eclipse and still have problems shifting into gear whats up?

Might be caused by an engine misfire. Maybe you've noticed your engine running more roughly lately with less acceleration power, especially on hills? The knock sensor will retard your timing when it is activated to help prevent the engine from knocking which is not good for it. But retarded timing results in a noticeable loss of power and acceleration. I think your shop technician will first check your tune up items like the ignition spark and emissions subsystems. Your shop may be able to read more error codes and monitor other operating parameters with their scanner hooked to your OBD-II diagnostic connector under your steering wheel.

Try putting in High Octane fuel. Cars knock when pre-ignition occurs - higher octane remedy.

Brake pads?

The pupose of the knock sensor is to retard your timing if the engine begins to ping. Ping is caused by advanced timing. Or it is possible if you have any kind of engine noise like lifter or rod knock that the knock sensor will mistake this for a ping. The knock sensor produces its own voltage to send to the computer if it senses a ping. If you know of someone with a volt meter you can check it. unplug the sensor( have to find first usually on th block with a single wire connector. possitive from volt meter on sensor and negative on ground. Now tap on the block next to the sensor and you should read a low voltage I think about 1 volt. If this works the sensor is good and you may have a wiring or computer problem thats a different story.

If combustion knock is detected by the Knock Sensor (KS) , ignition timing, which is normally at optimum advance, may be retarded on specific cylinders.

A Service Dealer taking advantage of my car?

Knock sensors use a piezo-electric sensing element to detect broad band (2 kHz to 20 kHz) engine accelerations.

I hear a knocking noise on the front passengerside of my car when i'm hitting the gas?

Charge sensitivity 37.5 pC/g nominal

Voltage sensitivity 29 + 15 % mV/g
TEST THE SENSOR'S OUTPUT VOLTAGE. MOST LIKELY THE BANK ONE SENSOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT
