As the not so proud previous owner of an 89 Plymouth Acclaim, I can offer you two things to check. The obvious would be your oil pump or sending unit. The not-so-obvious would be your belt tension. Believe it or not EVERYTHING on those cars has to do with proper belt tension. When the major belt, or belts in this case, come loose, you lose proper voltage throughout the car, it can even cause it to idle funny, throw check engine and oil pressure lights, everything under the sun. Even if your belt is brand new, your belt tension is very important. Hope this helps!
