Question:
My driveway is really steep and its quite icy at the moment i was just coming up it and wasnt going fast enough to get up it so i put it in reverse so i could build up some speed on the way back up. It being icy i started to slide so i pressed on the brakes hard and poped it into neutral. The brakes are fairly new and usually only go somewhat down, this time they kinda poped and went almost all the way down to the floor and my brake light went on. what just happend and are my brakes ok....they seemed to be working ok the rest of the way up and parking. Why are they all the way down now and why is the light on??

you may need brake fluid or to bleed the brakes. probably will get a better answer though2000 Pontiac Sunfire Tail Lights that are brake lights?
dont ask us.. GET THEM CHECKED!what procedure you prefer to drain the oil before changing a new oil?
Your brakes should be fine, what you've described is a normal function of your anti lock braking system. After some normal braking the light will reset it's self. This could have been caused by a number of things. it is possibly a leak in a brake line, your brake caliper could be out, and need replaced, or you could need new rotors.
How easy is it to change a radiator on a Ford Escort?
Depending on the make of your car, some are equipped with anti-lock brakes. When you press the peddle really hard, they will go down and make a popping sound but, once the peddle is released, they will go back to normal. If your peddle is now continuing to travel all the way to the floor and your brake light is on, there is a good chance that you either popped something in the master cylinder or, in one of your wheel cylinders. You should have a professional look at it immediately. How often do you REALLY need to change your oil?
You have a problem with your brakes. The light remains on because the secondary master cylinder is providing the braking power. Please have the brakes checked soon. What can I do about frozen car doors?
i own a repair shop, and it sounds like it may have just blown a wheel cylinder,,or a caliper out on it,,this will make the pop you described,,and it will also make the pedal go to the floor reel quick,,they need to be checked before you drive it again,,next time they may go all they way out,,you need to have someone look at them, and see what happened to them,i wouldn't drive it until i knew for sure,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,PS also check that brake fluid, and see if its low,if so,,you did loose some, good luck.vauxhall calibra 2.0 16v eco-tec x20xev ecu gone down can i replace it with a second hand 1?
You probably have anti lock brakes and they sensed the wheels sliding. That triggered the light as well a strange sound. Try them out on some dry pavement and see if they are ok.If the brake pads were so worn down the rotors were damaged -how much wuold that cost to repair?
if You don't have leakage.then Your brake has low fluid.it sounds like .1 if you have drum brakes in your car the adjuster popped out or when the adjuster went it started one of the wheel hydraulic cylinder to leak setting off the brake lite because of lack of fluid.check the master brake cylinder to see if it is low on fluid.
I'm considering getting a supercharger can anyone tell me what kind of maintenance they require?
check your brake fluid level and give them a good bleed. Other than that it could be wheel cylinders: not too expensive, but you definately want to have it looked intohas a vw passat 20v turbo petrol v reg got a cam belt or a toothed belt?
