Mercury Cougar brake light and abs light on at the same time when I press the brake or accelerate.?

Question:
What's the matter with my Mercury Cougar V6 automatic year 2000? I hit the gas after the stop sign with the A/C running and hear a whinning/wheezing sound from the A/C area and the brake light and the abs light come on for a second or two. Also if I touch the brake a little both lights come on. I accelerated and they did and there was a feeling like the car was struggling to accelerate. I checked and the emergency brake isn't on. Also I went to Jiffy Lube 2 weeks ago so I'm ok with fluids. I want to take the car to the shop but not before I have some ideas because I don't want unnescary charges or troubleshooting or time lost. Do you have any ideas?

You could take your car to a place like auto zone some of them do free diagnostics with the scanner. Even if the light isn't on when you bring it in it should still set a failure code. Check your battery terminals a lot of corrosion can cause the lights to come on due to low or excessive system voltage. The A/C noise could be the A/C clutch.
