A good radiator flush would be a good idea.A couple of the cores of the radiator may plugged.Take it to a good service tech and have it check to see if any part of the radiator is plugged and make sure your electric fan is properly working.The fan itself may be getting tired and not have the rpm's is used to have.Take it to a good mechanic.What do you think is wrong with my car's A.C.?

Check the coolant level. After opening the cooling system air become trapped at the highest point & must be removed. The thermostat will eventually open, then the coolant fills the void from the escaping air. Aluminium engines does not like running hot, therefore it's important to relieve the air prior to running the engine.- - -

As a suggestion,I would put in a new temp sending unit,they sometimes go a little out of range.And to check around the hoses and radiator with your hands,feeling for heat flow.In other words,you can tell if the coolant is circulating and where.Do the electric fans work?And also it may be possible for some air to be remaining in the system,that will prevent proper coolant flow.Take a look at the radiator and AC condensor,they may clog with nasty stuff on the outside preventing air flow.And with the radiator cap off,look for unusual pressure coming out which may indicate exhaust gasses entering through a head gasket leak.Does adding fuel additives to your gas, like Additech at Walmart, really work?
What engine do you have? I know the 2.0L Duratech has a plastic impeller on the water pump that likes to break causing overheating problems. It also could be air in the cooling system. After replacing the thermostat did you run the engine with the coolant cap off to let the air escape?More Questions & Answers ...
